What is an IBCLC?

International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, or IBCLC is the highest credential in the lactation field and it is internationally recognized. IBCLC’s are certified through International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLE) and must meet specific requirements. Some of which include lactation specific training, as well as hands on clinical hours in order to hold the title.

How do I know if my Lactation Consultant is an IBCLC?

The IBLCE registry lists every person that has met the requirements of an IBCLC. You can search by
certification number or name.
